I learnt lots of slangs these days here in US. Different from last year, I`m living with 2 romies: one brazilian guy, like myself, and an american guy. He is called Donovan, but we call him D. Baby or Baby Don.
Baby Don brings his friends home and we party a lot. This also helps me with my english and, yeah, hell yeah, helps a lot with slangs…
I know more badwords now in English than I know in Portuguese, my mother language.
They don`t like some of these badwords, since they tell me they “hurt” really badly. But most of them, for me, are fun! D****e bag is one that I like. C***t is nice too, but they told me this is the worst one for girls! I don`t wanna use them, but I think they sound nice. =D
1. Post these rules.
2. Each tagged person should post 6 aleatory facts of themselves.
3. Post the link of the friend that tagged you.
4. In the end tag and name 6 people.
5. Go to their pages and comment saying that they are tagged and hugged.
1. I`m in a difficult moment for statements and facts. I`m just in a “let it happens” moment. But I`m liking it!
2. Love seems like the waiting between two waves.
3. I wish my English was better than this, but I`m going to work on this. I`m planning on learning more about English grammar and finally learn how to speak French.
4. I like skiing more than soccer and this is weird because I`m a brazilian guy. But I can stand on this… Hey, what is the problem? I`m a skier, ok? Not a soccer player…
5. I like the winter more than the summer, but both can be great depending on who you are with.
6. I like twix bars, dude! But I can live without chocolate more time than I can live without a good cheese and fries and steak and huuuum! `love this!
7. I have no one to suggest. Because of this, I`ll compensate going to 10 facts. I know I`m breaking the rules, but I don`t care. hahaha Sorry, Mary!
8. I would not like to work in my country, unless it was teaching (my professional dream). I like working at the front desk here in US because I can train my English, be in a different place, ski, make money… But if I was in my country, really, I would not train a different language, neither I would be in a different place, or making money or skiing… But I can be poor if I`m teaching in a Federal University about Politics. Yeaaah, I can! (not that poor, thought, okay?)
9. I hate being in love. The first 3 or 4 weeks are so awful. I don`t like the way I feel. ahahaha
10. I`m not in love, okay? I`m just in a foreign country, so we stay more heart-feeling! =D Fact!
Here in Jackson (WY) - what a great town! – we are all anxiously waiting for snow! Jackson’s economy during winter season is, overall, based on how much snow we get! So, let`s make the ” snow dance ” and hope and wait and pray and… ow god! Let it snow!
This Monday I’m going to NY from Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). On the same day I’m flying to Salt Lake City (UT), where I’m planning to stay just over the night. On Wednesday I’m going to Jackson, WY! I love that place! I’m deeply anxious arriving there!!!
Here there is a movie from my travel to Jackson last year… This is in National Elk Refuge ! It’s absolutely beautiful! Gorgeous!
I recorded this on my Canon HV-20 (love this camcorder!) in full HD (High Definition). I just uploaded to Youtube a 720p HD version, and you can see it here:
I’m pretty busy these days, becaus we are finishing this semester at University. This is almost one of the last on my way to be a graduated guy! =D
Maybe tomorrow, maybe on Sunday, I’m going to finish the last big homework! We need to work out on a journalistic tv program every week. This week I present it and I need to edit it (I’m gladly using Final Cut!).
I hope to finish this tomorrow! I have a great party on Saturday, so I would love to be there without something to finish on Saunday!
José Saramago - Portuguese novelist
Ah! I’m reading – and loving it! – José Saramago’s “Jangada de Pedra” (original in Portuguese; “The Stone Raft” in english). The book is great! Saramago simply creates a whole new way of writing and narrating! He is GREAT! It’s quite sad that US reads so nothing from Saramago. Nowadays you can see BLINDNESS on the big screen… This is based on Saramago’s novel: Blindness (in Portuguese, original title: Ensaio sobre a cegueira).
This book is also great – and I loved the movie based on it too. Go to the book store and open your mind to this Nobel-laureate novelist! I’m going to US on December 1st, so I do need to finish “The Stone Raft” before that! I think I have just 70 pages to finish it…
I know McCain is not a bad man… however, his speech after the election, his remarks were really polite and directed for a nation union under the next president. I think yestarday night McCain showed up like a real maverick.
At the same time, I’m really happy for Obama’s victory and hopeful. Obama will have a big challenge: make all this hope and all these dreams come true. We all expect you can do it, Barack!
I’m imaging right now how it will be difficult for the looser to speak today in these two big “parties” (or one party and one nightmare?) Democrats and Republicans are arranging…
Phoenix for McCain and Grant Park in Chicago for Obama. Do you think they have two prepared speeches for these two different situations: winning or loosing?
Phoenix...
My guess:
- Obama will be the winner (thanks God!) and Grant Park will host a Grant Speech!
- McCain will loose (thanks, thanks again!) and Phoenix will be
Whyyyyy? Because, like Wikipedia remembers us: the perfect place for this speech.
It has a 600-800 year life-cycle, and near the end the phoenix builds itself a nest of cinnamon twigs that it then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix or phoenix egg arises, reborn anew to live again.
So… Loosing, McCain is like a ending cycle, and with this end born a new cycle… In another interpretation, McCain loosing is like a Phoenix dieing to reborn later. Either way, this place will work perfectly for him. (By the way, I expect Palin can’t reborn!!!!!)
Reading Saramago and trying to improve this blog!
